The famous TR-808 sampled directly into the MPC60 then recorded into Protools at 96Khz at 24bit. Normalised to zero then bounced to their respective formats. 17 samples in two different formats
(24bit 96Khz and 16bit 44.1Khz)
The 12 bit AD/DA of the MPC60 adds some subtle squelch and character to the iconic 808 drum sounds.
I sampled the snare at 2 different settings, each at both extremes, and the congas/toms were set roughly at their mid pitch positions. You can hear the sequencer ticking along in the background of the cymbal and open hats. I left it in for authenticity, but made sure it wasn’t in the Bass Drum sample because it might become annoying.
