Next up…ASR-10 Sample pack. ;-p

Next in the works is a sample pack made with the Ensoniq ASR-10. I’ll try and put a bit of everything in there, Kicks, snares, hats, percussion, some bass and also some synth sounds. Probably some guitar licks too.

For a while I had the idea to record into Protools first so I could then sample out of protools into a few different samplers, but this idea is boring and not as cool as going straight into the ASR!

It will definitely take longer this way so don’t expect this pack to come out tomorrow.

Some possible instruments / sounds to expect – (this might change a bit)

  • I’ll crack out my tabla for sure.
  • Bongos / congas / tambourines / shakers
  • Borrow a nice P-bass
  • My housemate’s old fender strat and Gibson Orville.
  • Some maton acoustic
  • Nord Rack 1 synth
  • Moog Minitaur
  • tr 707
  • tr 808
  • Alexis hr 16
  • I’ll dust off the Juno 106
  • My Premier drum kit will be the bulk of acoustic drum sounds.

Hopefully this should satisfy some musical pallets. Anyway I’ll see how I go.

Thanks for stopping by, and please check out my other packs, they are pretty cheap 😉

Congrats Kendrick on hottest 100 win!!

Kendrick Lamar’s song “Humble” just won triple j’s hottest 100!

Its an Australian radio competition if u don’t know and is one of the biggest music polls in the world.

Apparently it’s the first time someone who isn’t white has won it. Wow we are still a bit hillbilly over here it seems, but good to see things are changin.

Nice work Kendrick and also Mike Will made it for producing it. You guys are killing it.

Drum breaks on vinyl anyone?

So being a drummer and all,  I’m thinking of recording some drum breaks and getting them pressed to vinyl for people to buy. I checked some pricing and it seems feasible. Not the most lucrative of endeavours but a shit load of fun and or misery. The most important thing is, can I play something half decent?! Ha maybe I’ll give Bernard Perdie a call.

Anyway I would love to hear some feedback or if anyone would be interested.

The recordings would be 1/4 inch reel to reel, or into protools, and from 2 different kits and a few different rooms. Whatever sounds dope really.

Cheers.

Thanks for all the downloads!

Thanks to all the people who downloaded my new mini “808 into mpc60” sample pack. It seems that people like FREE stuff!! 😋

I guess I should make some more free mini packs seeing they are so popular. I guess 808 into sp1200? Or is that too obvious. How about I run the 808 through one of ensoniqs samplers. The choices are – mirage, eps classic, eps16+ or asr10. 🧐 I will think about it.

Anyway thanks everybody, send me some of your thoughts. 👍
